	The city of Vienna, with its rich culture, history and treasures, has one of the nicest "suburbs" one can imagine: the Vienna Woods.
	This enormous 180 degree panorama shows how SUDDENLY the bustling city gives way to the peace and charm of the Viennese Woods (on the right).
	The woods act as the "lungs" of the city, and as place to seek peace and solitude a short distance from downtown. City planners everywhere should learn from the wisdom of Vienna, which, for hundreds of years, has protected its woods. I cringe to see how in Florida (where I live and which is forever being "developed"), the first equipment that arrives at new construction sites is an army of bulldozers, that completely obliterates from the face of the earth any trace of vegetation or natural habitat that has ever existed. To be replaced by rows and rows of identical-looking streets, with identical-looking buildings and identical-looking shopping centers.

I saw "Quadraphonic" (or "QUAD"). What is that?

Answer:

Back in the 70's (and early 80's) a format was developed for playback in 4 channels. It was called "The greatest sensation of the music world!".

The listener was surrounded by music, quite a great sensation. Unfortunately, because of lack of standardization (there were several competing formats, incompatible with each other) and costly equipment the format never became very popular and was abandoned. The format was ahead of its time. Later we all were accustomed to "surround sound", more recently 5.1 formats such as "Dolby Digital AC-3" and "DTS".
