	Dresden is an amazing city. It is a city of despair and a city of hope.
	After a glorious past, with magnificent palaces, cathedrals and museums came the Nazis, with death and destruction. Then came the Allied bombing raid of February 13 1945 that triggered the Dresden Firestorm. Whatever noble reason was behind the Allied raid, here is what it left behind: over 35,000 dead and a completely destroyed historical city: palaces, cathedrals, museums reduced to ruins.
	Then came the communists, and more hardships: near-starvation for many, prison and gulag for others.
	After communism the brave citizens of Dresden finally started rebuilding, only to be set back again, this time by water: devastating and unprecedented floods. Today, they are still rebuilding.
	Every palace, cathedral, church, monument, building of historical importance you see today in Dresden has been rebuilt, literally "from the ashes": using original plans, and as much as possible, using original bricks and stones.
	This magnificent plaza is framed by historical buildings: the Semper Opera House (left), the Cathedral (former Catholic Court Chapel - Hofkirche, center-rigth) the former Royal Palace with the imposing Hausmann Tower (right). This picture is taken from the gate to the "Zwinger" (visible in the next view of the Plaza). All this was reduced to rubble on February 13 1945, everything we see today was rebuilt.

Can you guarantee that you will eliminate every single pop from LP or 78rpm recordings?

Answer:

	No. There are many thousands of pops and clicks on each recording. When we restore a record we have to decide how severe the pops and clicks are, and how much correction to apply to the music. On a recording that is otherwise good, except for a few pops, we prefer to apply less correction in order to preserve the liveliness of the music. This is explained on our Web site on our Noise Reduction Philosophy page.
	The budget for the restoration, at the consumer price level, is $10 (see our published prices, a "transfer only" is $19.95, a "sound restoration" is $29.95). "Hand removal" of pops and clicks is not possible at this price level. If you know that certain songs/tracks require extra restoration work, please select additional "Individual Restoration Units" (at $9.95 each).
