	On the shores of Lake Batur lies the village of Bali Aga. The people and culture of Bali Aga are ancient and a bit different from the rest of the island. In Bali Aga, the deceased are not cremated by fire. Instead, they are laid under a tree with miraculous properties, and left to decompose. The miraculous tree absorbs any odor, and the bodies slowly decompose and become mummified, in a process the locals call "cremation".
	Is it true about the "miraculous tree"? Yes, it is, I was there, under the tree, and there is no smell. This trip is not recommended for the casual tourist, as the sights and the customs of the locals are quite unusual.

I saw "Quadraphonic" (or "QUAD"). What is that?

Answer:

Back in the 70's (and early 80's) a format was developed for playback in 4 channels. It was called "The greatest sensation of the music world!".

The listener was surrounded by music, quite a great sensation. Unfortunately, because of lack of standardization (there were several competing formats, incompatible with each other) and costly equipment the format never became very popular and was abandoned. The format was ahead of its time. Later we all were accustomed to "surround sound", more recently 5.1 formats such as "Dolby Digital AC-3" and "DTS".
