Telaga Waja - Whitewater rafting, taking a break; large image

Whitewater rafting on the Telaga Waja river is a lot of fun. The technical challenges are not great, just enough to keep you entertained. The biggest technical challenge comes at the end of the run, a 4 meter (12 foot) drop over a "man-made" waterfall. The raft and you become airborne. The challenge is upon "re-entry", to maintain a dignified position, in contact with the raft. Most unseasoned rafters end up on their backs, upside down, or in the water.

The real fun is in admiring the breathtaking mountain landscape, the lush jungle, the sheer drops, the waterfalls that will sprinkle you from time to time. The scenery is truly unforgettable. This ride is highly recommended.

I saw "Quadraphonic" (or "QUAD"). What is that?

Answer:

Back in the 70's (and early 80's) a format was developed for playback in 4 channels. It was called "The greatest sensation of the music world!".

The listener was surrounded by music, quite a great sensation. Unfortunately, because of lack of standardization (there were several competing formats, incompatible with each other) and costly equipment the format never became very popular and was abandoned. The format was ahead of its time. Later we all were accustomed to "surround sound", more recently 5.1 formats such as "Dolby Digital AC-3" and "DTS".
